1958 FISHER MODEL #61 CONSOLETTE
Here's a terrific consolette hardly seen today. This is a Fisher model #61 monophonic unit with AM/FM tuner and a 4 speed Garrard changer. This has been rebuilt 100% and sounds really, really nice! This has 11 tubes in the receiver feeding 3 speakers in the cabinet.

Scarce CAPEHART COLORTONE MODEL #52PH56 BABY HI-FI CONSOLE RECORD PLAYER
Просмотров 7 тыс.8 лет назад
Here's something you don't see every day. This Capehart was introduced in 1956 and was a fairly expensive player back then. Capehart was a higher end manufacturer that really didn't make "junk". This player is TRUE HI-FIDELITY & has a fairly robust transformer chassis amplifier with a pair of 12AX7's & a pair of 6V6GT's with a 5Y3GT rectifier. At 60 years old, this still has all of its original...
Obscure & Scarce 1950 Admiral Model #5W1 AM Radio/2-Speed 33/45 RPM Phonograph - MUST SEE!
Просмотров 4,6 тыс.9 лет назад
Here's a rather scarce player from 1949-50! In addition to being an AM radio, this also plays 7" 33's & 45's in a most unusual manner. These are rarely seen today and are as scarce as the Zenith Twin Seven models. The changer is an Admiral model #RC400 and is virtually useless without the 45 &/or 33 spindle which are most often broken or missing when you find these players. It's more difficult ...
AEI PARAGON Model #VI-B "Foreground" Tape Music System
Просмотров 4 тыс.9 лет назад
BEFORE I GET HIT WITH INFRINGEMENT POLICY, THE MUSIC BEING PLAYED HERE IS NOT FOR THE CONTENT BUT RATHER TO DEMONSTRATE THE USE OF THIS PLAYER!!! Here's another item not often seen today...old technology for sure! This is a "foreground" music system as opposed to a "background" music system. It was piped through stores and restaurants for the patrons to listen to. This system is based on the Mu...
ARTONE 4-Speed Hi-Fi Phonograph w/AM Radio - MUST SEE!
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.9 лет назад
Here's an odd duck you don't see everyday. I'm familiar with the name ARTONE but for tube-type AM radios built in the 50's and not for phonographs. This model (unfortunately) does not have a model number. I'm assuming the tag on the player disappeared over time. This player is VERY well built with a 6-tube transformer type amp & AM radio built into it. The chassis has been rebuilt, the cartridg...
UNIQUE!! MUNTZ Home Stereo Tape Player By AUTOSTEREO Model # W88
Просмотров 10 тыс.9 лет назад
A couple of corrections first. This deck has 4 lines but it plays only THREE different sized cartridges NOT four! "Taken away by e-Bay"....No! Meant to say taken offline by RUclips which has a habit of carefully examining audio content and removing the audio or the complete video. A hearty "Thank You" to Chris Cuff for taking the time to restore the amplifier for me. This is a solid state amp a...
Obscure Wards Riverside Automobile Sound Tape Cartridge Player Model #61
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.9 лет назад
Here's an item not seen every day! This Mongomery Wards player was made by a 3rd party for Wards as Mongomery Wards NEVER made anything of their own. While most people are aware of the 8 track players so popular in the 60's & 70's, this is made for the obsolete & obscure Sound Tape Cartridges made from 1957-1964. Few are aware that automobile players were actually made for this format! Here's p...
Scarce RCA "Flight Line" Sound Tape Demo Cartridge
Просмотров 7 тыс.9 лет назад
Here's a demo of a Sound Tape Cartridge rarely seen or heard today. I don't know if these were designed for Dealer use only or whether these were given to customers buying the RCA tape players. In any event, this may be the first time you've heard this material before. I'm an avid collector of Sound Tape Cartridge players AND pre-recorded Sound Tape Cartridges. PLEASE contact me if you have eit...
Obscure RCA Licensed 45 RPM Decca Model #DP911 "The York" Record Player
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.9 лет назад
It never ceases to amaze me the number of RCA licensed players still to be found out there! While Decca is not an obscure manufacturer, this is a relatively difficult player to locate. It has surprisingly good volume for a 1-tube amplifier incorporating a 25L6 amp tube feeding a 4" speaker w/tone & volume controls. This player has a new Chu Denshi cartridge and the unit is restored to good oper...
1954 MOTOROLA Model # 54HF1 3-Speed Hi-Fi Table Phonograph
Просмотров 5 тыс.9 лет назад
Here's a beautiful Motorola tabletop pnonograph from 1954. These are NOT often found and they're cool because instead of speakers being fired through grill cloth, this has a bottom fired speaker system consisting of an 8" and a 6" speaker...Hi-Fidelity of course!. This allows for listening at any angle without losing any volume or being muffled in any way. The amplifier features a copper chassi...
Part #2: The RCA 45 RPM Idler...REBUILD IT YOURSELF!!!
Просмотров 10 тыс.9 лет назад
This is part 2 of the saga of the RCA 45 RPM idler. Today we'll show you the dimensions necessary to make the cuts in your defunct idler to make it functional again. I've ordered some proper silicone "O" rings for the conversion and will have them available shortly for those that wish to try this out themselves. I'll go to a 3rd video soon showing how to properly mount the idler in your motor m...

Probably won't hear back as this guy never responds, BUT IF you want to get rid of the white powder crud on the knobs, drop them in a glass of very hot water with a denture cleanser tab and let it sit for 24-48 hours (48 if they are really crudded up) And then take a toothbrush to them while running them under hot tap water and they will clean up and look like NEW!

They’re only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. At 70 years old it’ll need restored to work properly. Condition is everything! Assuming unrestored, perfect speaker cloth & good cabinet it’s worth around $150 IMHO.

The spindle caps were Maroon from the factory someone must have replaced it at some point on your machine. I have two of the machines and the caps are as maroon as the tonearm. and switch and nameplate. One of mine has the Maroon volume control the other is brown.

I never saw one like that. The pink and gray case was used on 45’s in a different configuration. Not sure I like it. A one tube amp, that sux. I know that sound of music isn’t coming out of that one tube amplifier. You have an entire separate sound system.

  • @dhelton40

It clearly has the GE cartridge in it, this was one of the first mass produced magnetic cartridges. In good condition they are a great option for playing mono records. Most are easy to spot with the red button for rotating the 78 & LP stylus into position. Like all magnetic cartridges they required an extra preamp tube so they cost more.

I saw the first one of these ever in my life in a antique store in Lake Geneva wisconsin. The man there said that some were installed in the cabinets like yours but others would be installed into the walls of the owners houses themselves. No speakers were included with the unit so it left the possibilities wide open as to how the owner could distribute the sound throughout the house.

I have this same unit SHP-8A and I’m having a few issues. It has been collecting dust in the basement for years, but it does still power up. When running the needle drops but only stays down for about 2 seconds and returns. I also noticed a burning dust smell when turning the unit on. I cleaned up some of the dust but a strong smell. The 6v6 and 5y3 bulbs get very hot when the machine turns on. Any idea on how to fix these things so I can enjoy this unit??
